Bringing you back to balance

My Story
My tools and training are in Ayurveda, Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Reiki and Behavioral Studies, and my experiences provide an understanding of and compassion for others.

The journey began when my parents took me to my first yoga class in Minnesota in the late 1980’s with claims that it would "make me feel better." Yoga instantly resonated within me and so began a lifelong practice in yoga asana and pranayama. This lead to an in depth study of yoga philosophy and practices, and equally importantly, to living a life of persistent practice.

Health and education were predominate areas of study in my young adulthood, and I became an elementary education teacher and later,
the mother of three children, the eldest having special needs. I found myself immersed in the world of severe non-verbal autism. Life as a mother was consumed with the pursuit to understand and support my son with autism and his sisters growing up in its shadows. I was lead to Ayurvedic Medicine and completed my first round of studies in Ayurveda at Mount Madonna Institute, College of Ayurveda in Watsonville, California in 2007. Meanwhile, I focused my work life on teaching our most severely impacted young learners as a special education teacher.
I have had to discover my personal strength, my shakti, through extreme challenges as a woman, as a friend, as a parent, as a teacher and as a daughter. I have faced illness and experienced stress and exhaustion, and their effects on the body, mind and spirit. With a teaching career that spans over two decades, a lifetime of yoga practice and training, formal training and experience in Ayurveda spanning the past 15 years, Reiki Master Level training and an immeasurable passion for healing, I combine my unique experiences to bring a holistic approach toward health. These experiences form the foundation from which I aim to guide others toward personal healing.
